Take
Care Neglect (CPS)
8 SESSIONS English/Spanish $55
Take Care examines the signs and effects of five major areas of Neglect: physical, medical, educational, emotional, and supervision. In this small group setting, individuals learn to recognize and correct life situations leading to child neglect. Meets Court Required, “Counseling for Issues of Neglect.”

Anger
Management (CPS)
10 WEEKS English/Spanish $55
This group allows parents to recognize and accept personal responsibility for uncontrolled anger. The class will help individuals recognize personal triggers, resist old impulses, and resolve anger in a healthy manner. The parent child focus of this class also presents skills parents can use to help their children with anger. Meets Court Referred requirements for 10 week Anger Management for criminal and family court.

This three hour session for Divorcing Parents helps them deal with family issues surrounding divorce. They learn how to avoid putting children in the middle and how to assist their children in the transition after divorce. Meets Court Requirement. Custody mediation referral

52 Week English/Spanish Court ordered parent education/training group designed to meet the California Penal Code requirement of one year counseling services specifically for individuals charged with P.C. 273 (child endangerment/willful cruelty to a child). criminal court not a family court referral.............. $20 week

Pathfinders
18 WEEKS English/Spanish (KRC)
Pathfinders is a Parenting Class for people with developmental disabilities. Many of these parents are eligible to have Kern Regional Center pay their fees. This class meets Court Referred requirements for parenting in family and criminal court.

Matters (CPS)
26 WEEKS English/Spanish $20 week
Child Protection Group meets family court requirements. This program will focus on a variety of issues including, child neglect, family violence, failure to protect (sexual and physical abuse awareness), failure to protect (health and safety issues), and recovery from family breakdown. (Specifically a CPS referral.)

Teens at risk for running away or being kicked out can benefit from KOOL-OFF. A 24 hour hotline is available for the parent and youth, crisis counseling, and family services to help teens and their families find a way to stay together.

Case management provides individuals with referrals to services and assistance with basic needs. Case managers also provide guidance in basic life skills. Discuss with Haven Counselors during or following intake.
