The Country Rose Tea Room has partnered with the Kern Child Abuse Prevention Council/Haven Counseling Center, “Haven,” to present an historic home tour.On Sunday, December 11, 2011 community members will gather to sample a gourmet luncheon, followed by a tour of historic homes
These lovely homes, decorated for the holidays, will welcome visitors and share with them the holiday spirit.All proceeds will go to Haven Counseling Center to assist in its efforts to stop child abuse.
How wonderful to view the Oleander/Sunset or Westchester neighborhood!Each day you drive down tree covered streets amid bungalows, adobes and stately mansions.The homes in these neighborhoods have a singular charm all their own and hearken back to an earlier time when craftsmanship was highly prized.Each day you take a step into history when you cross the threshold into these homes.
Haven is in the business of healing families.Through education, treatment and advocacy it works to prevent the occurrence and re occurrence of child abuse and neglect.Personalized parenting classes teach parents new skills.Family counseling lets the whole family participate and benefit from new insights and behaviors. Guided Visitation provides a parenting coach to teach and model positive parenting techniques.All of these services contribute to safer and more loving homes where children and parents can grow and thrive.
