Child Abuse Prevention Council, Inc. (KCAPC) is a private, non-profit organization
whose goals are the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect in Kern
County. KCAPC was designated in 1987 by the Kern County Board of Supervisors and
the Child Abuse Coordinating Council for Central and all of Kern County.
KCAPC depends largely on membership in the Council and volunteer participation
in the programs to provide services. KCAPC provides public information / presentation
regarding child abuse and neglect, support of legislation relation to child abuse,
speakers and sponsorship of the interagency Child Abuse Network (CAN) CAN is a
countrywide network of leaders of departments and agencies involved in protecting
and serving abused children.
The mission of the
Kern
Child Abuse Prevention Council / Haven Counseling Center is to be
a nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention
of child abuse and neglect through advocacy and education.
This
website is geared to provide the citizens and the community information
about the Haven Counseling Center and services provided.
